Happy Birthday to all you gorgeous Leos out there!!! The whole Planet needs a BIG dose of your warmth, joy & kind heartedness right now, so hopefully you’ll be feeling on top of your game & able to rekindle your inspirational, sunny Energy this Month & shine a light for us all!

By the end of this first week of August all our Planets, except Jupiter & Venus, will be Retrograde! If we consider that each Planet offers us a different kind of Energy to get through our days, we can understand just how significant a slow down this period is. It can be difficult to find the solutions we’re seeking, so it makes for a frustrating time. Many things may have come undone, so of course we want to get them all fixed & pronto! But we still have a bit of a wait until things start coming together. EVERYONE is in the same boat on some level &, as mentioned last Month, we’re all encouraged to stop pushing. If we can take our foot off the accelerator, cruise along & work on what we’ve got rather than trying to break new territory, we’ll make it a LOT easier on ourselves. Yes, you’re probably as tired of hearing this as I am saying it! But honestly, cut yourself some slack & stay slowed down for now.

Fortunately, the Sun is in Leo, its absolutely favourite Sign to be in… the Sun is Leos Ruler, after all. Our way through this time is to incorporate Leo Energy into our Lives. Though they’re well capable, Leos aren’t all about keeping their noses to the grindstone. Their philosophy is one of working to attain a better quality of life, not living to work. Leo has a sunny, happy default disposition & they always try to look on the bright side. They don’t get tangled up in sadness for long, for like the Sun as it rises & sets, each day is a new day & offers us new Energy & hope. Leo is an optimistic, shiny & child like Sign… having FUN is a priority! Isn’t that what makes life worth living? We should try (go on… TRY!) to lighten up & not put all our focus on what’s going wrong, or what we can’t change at the moment. Take your shackles off, let your hair down & enjoy everything you have which does make you feel fulfilled. Get creative, get out into nature, wear some bright colours, SMILE, smell flowers, call friends, wear your favourite fragrance, dress up just for the hell of it, go to an art show or exhibition… go to the movies, have a netflix fest… you get my drift. Lift yourself UP & fake it til you make it.

Mercury is Retrograde in Leo & will turn Direct on the 20th of August. In amongst the confusion, it may have been difficult to prove your point or get your side of the story across clearly. The idea is that delays WILL prove beneficial in the end & perhaps you actually needed more information & clarity to be able to get a solid result. Right now, that won’t be apparent, but rest assured information will start to come in toward the end of the Month & allow for a smooth, straightening out. Go back over your facts… even if you THINK you know a situation inside out, you’ll likely find there’s an element or two you passed over or accidentally missed & this will allow you an advantage now.

Venus is in Virgo at the beginning of the month, but moves into Libra by the second week. Our love lives may have been viewed through a rather detail orientated view as Virgo is a very discerning, sometimes critical Sign & cares most about getting everything “just so”! When She moves into Libra, Venus will be come much more comfortable, as She Rules this Sign. She’ll offer us a good dose of support, with Libran traits of fairness, balance & diplomacy. As we have a few challenges this Month & our relationships may be under pressure, this will be a relief! Look for an Aspect of ease around the 8th. Venus can really help us nurture ourselves & help us get comfortable when the going gets a little tough. So make sure you cash in on this & spoil yourself in ways you know will help pick you up.

Mars is still Retrograde in Aquarius, but this Month, he’ll be backing back into Capricorn. Things that started to move forward but stalled somehow, back in May, can now be revisited & any tangles that occurred should now start to become apparent, ready to iron out. Mars slowed down & being our Planet of action & instant gratification through movement, will have proven this period a long & probably frustrating haul. He’s said to be “Exalted” in Capricorn though, so even though he’s slow, he is high functioning! Recently, Mars has been Squaring Uranus, Planet of disruption & surprise & this has proven a rather accident prone time. Hopefully anything that’s jumped up, or out, or under, hasn’t knocked you for six & you’ve been able to damage control to the best of your abilities. Honestly, it could have been worse (please don’t throw your popcorn at me… I’m only the messenger here!), so hang in there guys… he finally goes Direct on August 28th & forward we’ll go again.

Jupiter IS Direct in Scorpio & will be helping us deal with everybody else’s Retrogrades through having some great Aspects with Neptune, pretty much all Month. Hoorah for this!! Both of these Planets are highly Spiritual & supportive of each other, encouraging us to transcend our troubles & also to see things from a higher perspective, should we choose to look. We can gain a few major insights into life & love now, particularly around the third week of August. If relationships have been strained, it’s a great time to have those serious conversations & mend fences. At the very least, for those of us who are creative & musical, we can escape into our art & find some solace there. For anyone feeling stuck & frustrated, put your favourite music on… it will really shift your mood & help you feel lighter & more inspired!

Saturn & Pluto are both Retrograde in Capricorn & though they’ve been Aspected on & off by the faster moving Planets recently, they’re ticking along slowly behind the scenes & periodically poking us to transform into our better selves & lay our new platform, brick by brick. Both of them are going backward for some time still & as one theory is that Retrograde Planets turn our Energy to the internal, who we are & what we are becoming is a conversation many of us are having with ourselves on & off. I think we’re kinda used to this by now & hopefully making much progress.

Finally, Uranus in Taurus is… yup… Retrograde, as of the 8th. He’ll be going back toward Aries, not Direct until January. In the second week of August, He’s having a nice Aspect with Saturn, so if you’re looking for a window to do something you really need to get going with, aim for the week of the 14th. His main game at the moment though is the conversations he’s been having with Mars & these two having been bringing around sudden shifts & changes. There’ll be one more part to this, once Mars goes direct at the end of the Month & so where you might have had a rug pulled out from under you, or some not so great quick reversals, don’t give up on things finally going your way! Patience is the way through, which is why so many Astrologers are encouraging us to hold tight & not make any final declarations or decisions just yet if we can possibly help it. You know when you turn a neon light on & it blinks & blusters for a while before it snaps into shape & blasts you with its full & steady light? That’s how I’d sum up the end of this Month. Slowly but surely all the Planets will start to come online again & we’ll be able, once more, to shine full beam! We’re really tasked to make the best we can of challenging situations & that is something we’re becoming very skilled at. We’ve been SO tested lately, we’ve had a lot of practice & we’re a lot tougher than we ever were before. Work on the things you already have at hand & where you keep running into what seems to be a brick wall, that’s your sign to put your tools down & go & work on something else. Take a well earned break & don’t take action just for actions sake! Know where you find yourself is EXACTLY where you’re meant to be, you just can’t see it quite YET!!

The New Moon this Month is on August 11th, at 19:57, in Leo @18 Degrees. For those of you who are following the Eclipse, it actually starts a little before the Moon is New, at 19:46. This is a great New Moon!! Leo embodies creativity, romance, FUN, our child like qualities & children, our leadership skills, song, dance, acting, partying & the general way we like to celebrate! This New Moon is the time to set your intentions around these things. What of these do you wish to expand & grow? What, really, makes you HAPPY? Leo is about how we SHINE, so if your special talents & abilities have been put on the backburner, it’s time to put them front & centre again. Life has been all about our serious sides of late, it’s so important to bring back our sense of joy. Do “silly” things which uplift you… just for no reason… just because you can!

The Full Moon is on August 26th, at 21:56, in Pisces @3 Degrees. This Full Moon has some beautiful Aspects & it’s a highly emotional one, being in a Water Sign. Pisces is the 12th Sign of the Zodiac, it holds the culmination of all parts of ourselves & speaks directly to our Souls. This is bound to be a hyper intuitive & reflective time, so I’d suggest you plan a few quiet days before & after, as you’re likely to be feeling a little moody, quiet & probably *tired*. Having said this, all things Pisces will prove healing… being by water, getting lost in a movie, writing in your journal, listening to some classical music, sitting safe & warm daydreaming. Anything that calms & sooths you will help you connect at a deep, deep level with yourself & others. Full Moons are the best time to release our troubles & free our minds, but with a Pisces Moon, where past hurts, sorrow or grief have proven hard to shift, forgive yourself, forgive them… say a prayer & say goodbye. You may have tried many times, but now you’re likely to be able to put things to rest & heal your heart for good.

The Crystal for August, in View of it being Leo Season & the lovely New Moon we’re having in Leo too, is Sunstone. This Stone brims with joy & abundance, along with heart warming Energy & hope. I think we’re all pretty exhausted right now & over the dark, cold days of Winter… Sunstone is a Crystal of Vitality, it’s a strong manifestation Stone as it’s charged with pure Solar Energy. Physically good to help heal a sore throat & improve a sluggish metabolism, this Stone really excels at uplifting our mental state.
